Conexões Amefricanas no “Clube de Leitura Virtual João Anzanello Carrascoza”

Abstract

In order to contribute for comprehension of the importance of reading clubs in Brazil as privileged places for reader training, highlights the reception of the works O Olho mais azul (1970) by Toni Morrison, Úrsula (1856) by Maria Firmina dos Reis and Niketche (2001) by Paulina Chiziane. These works were written by black authors committed to the fight for rights and were read by the members of the extension project “João Anzanello Carrascoza Virtual Reading Club” and discussed during the meetings held, respectively, in May, July and November 2022. This reading club is the result of an extension project, whose target audience is students of the Languages ​​course at UNESPAR, as well as the community of Paranavaí (PR) and region, in addition to students of the Pedagogy course at FACCAT, and the community of Tupã (SP) and region. Through the members' reading reports, responses from the online presence form and comments written in the chat, it was possible to understand how the themes and aesthetics present in the books were received by each member, with different profiles and reading experiences. From the analysis of the answers and interaction of the club members, it was possible to verify that the three works had a very positive reception, allowing the readers to have direct access to different cultures and spaces, raising urgent questions about social inequalities and racism. Finally, it emphasizes the importance of reading clubs for the visibility and strengthening of the production of black women, also contributing to reflections of a multiracial and multicultural character in Latin America.
