Abstract

This paper is the result of research developed with FAPESP (2012/XXXXX and 2019/XXXXX) support. Based upon presuppositions of Translation Studies and Semiotics of Culture (Lotman, 2005), the research developed involved the commented translation of some excerpts of a volume organized by American anthropologist Chernela (2015) and the intersemiotic poetic translation of myth M1 bororo into an app. In the context of Brazilian Indigenous Literature, we understand that such translation exercises may contribute to the dissemination of those texts originally produced in one of the 174 current indigenous languages within Brazilian territory, requiring its translation into Portuguese together with taking into consideration their poetic value. We intend to contribute to the reflection on translation as well as on those cultural issues related to it with especial emphasis on texts produced by Brazilian indigenous peoples.
