Abstract

Morphometric measurements of woody species are fundamental to support and adapt silvicultural practices. The essay aimed to estimate interdimensional relationships in 6 years old pure stands of P. dubium and P. rigida trees planted in a 2 x 1 m spacing using diameter at breast height of 1.3 m (DBH) as an independent variable. The morphometric measurements included the total and the bole height, DBH, and projection of crown diameter with which we calculated crown length, crown proportion, crown projection area, slenderness rate, salience index, range index and crown formal interdimensional relations. Results indicated the possibility of using the DAP to estimate the crown length, slenderness rate (Ge) and salience index (Is) in P. rigida trees and crown projection area, Ge and Is in trees of P. dubium.
