Abstract

Soil structure is one of the most important attributes for the adaptation of the species and can be evaluated by the density of the soil, macro and micro porosity, aggregate stability, soil strength and permeability, mainly to compare different management systems. In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate the soil physical properties (macro porosity, micro porosity, total porosity and density) under the effects of dual purpose wheat BRS Tarumã, oat IPR 126, turnip and crambe cultivation, after mechanical and chemical crops management, and after the succession of soybean. The study was conducted in randomized blocks experimental design, in track layout, with three replications. Macro porosity, micro porosity, total porosity and density were the physical soil attributes that were evaluated. There were no differences in macro porosity, micro porosity, total porosity and density using different management in winter crops with successive cultivation with soybeans. The winter crops oat, crambe, turnip and wheat, when used as cover crop, are similar in the maintenance or improvement of soil physical properties under chemical or mechanical handling, at 0-10 cm after cultivated with soybeans.
