Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the field conditions in Experimental University of the West of Paraná, campus of Marechal Cândido Rondon (PR) to evaluate the effect of five doses of nitrogen (0, 100, 200, 300 and 400kg/ha) and three cultivate of Panicum maximum (Mombaça, Tanzania and Milenium-IPR-86). A complete randomized block desing was used with treatament arranged in a 3x5 factorial. The production of dry matter was evaluated, tillering density, plant height and apical meristem height. The doses of nitrogen interfered in the production of dry matter (P < 0,05), tillering density, apical meristem height and height of the plant. The maximum production of dry matter was obtained with the application of 257 kg/ha of nitrogen. There was not significant difference (P>0,05) among them you cultivate as the production of dry matter (3674kg/ha) and tillering density (297,6 p/m2) and to cultivate IPR-86 it presented larger plant height (81,31 cm) and of the apical meristem (16,4 cm), and you cultivate them Mombaça and Tanzania they presented MA 11,8 and 10,8 cm, respectively.
