Abstract

In Rio Grande do Sul viticulture is an activity of great importance. Drosophila suzukii (Matsumura, 1931) (Diptera, Drosophilidae) is a polyphagous pest, of reduced body size, which lays its eggs in healthy and intact fruit. The objective of the work was to monitor D. suzukii in different vine cultivations, and in the receiving area of grapes in a winery, to check the infestation in barrels and the body size of the pest. 400 barrels were collected randomly in each area, being packed in pots until all adults emerged, being identified and sexed. Females were measured using a digital caliper. The cultivation of Moscato Bailey showed the highest number of adults of D. suzukii emerged. The Females of Moscato Bailey and Malvasia grapes had larger body size. The results showed that D. suzukii is present in the vine culture and disseminated in grape receiving areas and that its development is differentiated according to the cultivation of the grapes.
