Abstract

Potato crop migrates continually in Brazil due to the high incidence of soil diseases, which threatens its sustainability. This review presents concepts of soil quality, which are essential for the establishment of sustainable production systems for the potato crop. The presented concepts rely, especially, on biological (biodiversity and disease
suppression capacity) and physical (compaction, drainage and aggregation) soil aspects.
