Abstract

The sucará also known as Gleditschia amorphoides is a important for the regeneration of riverine areas. Due to the presence of numbness imposed by the tegument, occurs late in seed germination, and obtaining the results, often does not correspond with the real force of the same. The tetrazolium method was used to assess the viabilidade of seed, especially because it is accurate, fast, low cost and easy to perform. This study aims to evaluate the seed vigor sucará from different sources through the tetrazolium test and seedling development. We used three seed origins, looking through the germination test, germination percentage, germination speed index, length of shoot and root mass of seedling. Parallel testing was held water content, weight of thousand seeds and tetrazolium. The averages were compared and analyzed by the Tukey test at 5% probability. It was found that there was no statistical difference between the lots Mercedes, Santa Helena and Marechal Cândido Rondon, and that the average percentage 56% of germination and the viability of the tetrazolium of 50.33 %.
