A obra Sempreviva de Antonio Callado, editada pela Nova Fronteira em 1981, desenvolve temática atual e interessante. Já nas primeiras páginas acompanhamos o exilado Quinho, Vasco Soares Lanceiro, retornando ao Brasil, via Bolívia, para vingar a prisão, durante uma seção de cinema na Europa, e posterior morte de sua namorada e amante Lucinda. O amor entre eles precisava ser um segredo, até mesmo para seus amigos militantes políticos, por questão de segurança. Na época Lucinda esperava um filho, que Quinho nunca viu nascer, ela deixou tão fortes lembranças no amado que ele não só sonhava com ela, como também procurava- a nas outras mulheres com quem se relacionasse. AÀ lembrança de Lucinda faz com que Quinho misture sonho e realidade, justificando o título Sempreviva
