ASSISTÊNCIA À SAÚDE NA FRONTEIRA COM O URUGUAI: ESTRATÉGIAS PARA QUALIFICAÇÃO DE ATENDIMENTO PELO SUS

A população residente na fronteira do Brasil com o Uruguai, segundo dados do Censo 2010 representa 4,57% dos gaúchos. Por apresentar baixo Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH), os municípios fronteiriços são alvo de políticas ou ações públicas diferenciadas por parte do governo federal, com a instituição de vários programas. Na perspectiva da promoção à saúde, se pode notar peculiaridades como a elaboração de um projeto específico para financiamento de ações, o Sistema Integrado de Saúde nas Fronteiras (SIS Fronteiras) e a possibilidade de contratação de médicos uruguaios para atuação no Sistema Único de Saúde. O presente trabalho pretende traçar um panorama sobre como estão sendo implantadas essas ações nesta faixa de fronteira, e realizar uma reflexão quanto aos seus benefícios e resistências, a partir dos dados sobre os repasses financeiros e repercussão da contratação de médicos uruguaios na imprensa gaúcha.
