El artículo discute sobre la complejidad de las identidades fronterizas al sur de México, al explorar cómo los actores actualizan sus vínculos comunitarios transfronterizos a través de las relaciones en tres ámbitos: el religioso, el comercial y el familiar. Habitar el lugar fronterizo implica movimientos entre reconocimientos y diferencias en los que intervienen activamente las iglesias, el comercio (legal y de contrabando) y las uniones familiares. Estas redes de creyentes, comerciantes y parientes modulan campos sociales transfronterizos y diversos lugares de identificaciones cuyas dinámicas ocupan el espacio-temporal que habitan y distinguen entre fronteras. Todo ello atendiendo a los particulares procesos históricos que han definido el papel de los estados de México y Guatemala en la frontera definiéndola política y culturalmente.Downloads
