OS SENTIDOS DO PAÍS VIZINHO EM JORNAIS DA FRONTEIRA SANTANA DO LIVRAMENTO (BRASIL) E RIVERA (URUGUAI)

O presente estudo propõe-se a analisar a forma de inserção e as designações atribuídas ao país vizinho em jornais locais das cidades da fronteira Santana do Livramento (Brasil) e Rivera (Uruguai). Foram analisadas dez notícias retiradas de ambos os jornais cujas edições compreendem o período de agosto de 2010 a março de 2011. Para este estudo, nos baseamos em estudos históricos sobre a formação da fronteira platina, em trabalhos da área da comunicação social, mais especificamente do jornalismo, bem como no arcabouço teórico da Linguística da Enunciação. Os resultados indicam que a fronteira é designada de formas diferentes nos jornais dos dois países, mobilizando significados de desigualdade e separação no jornal de Santana do Livramento e de unidade e integração no jornal de Rivera.Published
