Os Modernistas de 22 propuseram uma revolução atacando os modelões parnasianos, a prolixidade de um Coelho Neto e certos exageros sentimentais românticos. Em suas intenções, manifestos e obras não há referência a nenhum grande ou bom escritor anterior. Alcântara Machado e Manuel Bandeira parecem ter passado à margem daquela Semana de três dias. As características das Escolas Literárias apontadas pelos livros didáticos não respeitam as individualidades de escritores considerados singulares e diferenciados (modernos?) no quadro geral da Literatura Brasileira, anterior a 1922. Se a ironia é uma das marcas fortes da Literatura Moderna, Gregório de Matos mantém-se barroco em suas poesias satíricas? A leitura de alguns ensaios de crítica literária de Machado de Assis afasta qualquer possibilidade de afinidade ou filiação à Escola Realista. No homem que sabia Javanês é muito forte a ausência de remorsos. Por que os Modernistas de 22 não falam em Machado de Assis, Cruz e Souza, Lima Barreto, Augusto dos Anjos, entre outros?Downloads
