Abstract

Abstract: Environmental education is understood as an educational process of seeking out and building social values, knowledge and skills aimed at preserving the environment. In this scenario, the school is a suitable place for implementing educational practices related to the environment, as it has spaces that favor reflective activities on the subject. Operation Rondon Paraná, through university extension, aimed to encourage elementary school students and EJA students, through practical activities, to reflect on issues involving environmental preservation, sustainability and recycling, with the aim of enabling greater interaction between students and a more active understanding of the content covered. During the meetings, in the cities of Antonina and Guaratuba, explanatory and dynamic workshops were used to work on the proposed theme. The article used bibliographical research and action research. The results obtained were positive, with approximately 305 participants in the two municipalities, and it was possible to observe the expansion of the community's sense of environmental responsibility and the strengthening of university extension and environmental education.
