Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the proper drying thickness and time in the sun, on cement floor, brewery waste. For the experiment was used brewery residue obtained in industry located in the municipality of Toledo - PR, which had DM content of 20.60%. The waste was distributed over the concrete surface with the aid of 26 frames with 2, 4, 6 and 8 cm thicknesses, corresponding to treatments, with six replications. The waste was exposed to sunlight for three days (9 o'clock on day 11 hours on the second day and 11 hours on the third day), and trashed every two hours of exposure to sun and covered during the night, to avoid deposition dew. Significant variation was observed for dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), mineral matter (MM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (NDA) (p<0.01), due to the different drying thicknesses. Drying of the sun brewer waste was effective when the thickness of the material was 2 cm, and deterioration of the dry observed in thicknesses greater than 4 cm.
