Abstract

Nellore and half- blood yearling bovines were analyzed in four different treatments to evaluate the benefit of methionine and biosurfactante utilization. The treatments used were: NCMPB - Nellore animals receiving diet containing methionine and biosurfactante; NSMPB – Nellore animals in the control group receiving diet without methionine and biosurfactante; MCMPB – Half- blood animals receiving diet containing methionine and biosurfactante and MSMPB – Half- blood animals in the control group receiving diet without methionine and biosurfactante. It were evaluated the dry mater intake and the residual percentage of ethereal extract in the feces and the carcass weight after slaughter. The feedlot had duration of 114 days, being 75 days of experiment. The data were evaluated by the SAS program and the means were compared by the Tukey test (p<0.05).  In the end of the period evaluated it was observed that occurred effect of genetic group considering the carcass average weight.
