TRATAMENTO DE HIPERPLASIA GENGIVAL FIBRÓTICA ASSOCIADA À TERAPIA ORTODÔNTICA NA ADOLESCÊNCIA CASO CLÍNICO

Abstract

The treatment of gingival hyperplasic fibrosis was performed at
Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná – Unioeste on a female white patient, fourteen years old, fix apparatus orthodontic beared. The patient´s
complain was about gingival growing, difficulties of cleaning, bleeding and
her wish of extending clinical crown of the teeth. After detailed anamnesis
and careful clinical exam, the treatment plan was performed, beginning from
basic periodontal therapy. During another evaluation it was detected the
necessity of surgical intervention through gingivoplasty to return anatomofunctional
mode of protection periodontium of which got the cleaning easier
and favorable aesthetic. The surgical correction of gingival hiperplasic is a
simple procedure since the correct diagnosis is performed and the patient is
cooperative. Furthermore, it´s very important that the patient be aware about
the necessity of therapy and support to avoid relapse, once hiperplasic is
intensified by bacteria plaque. On this way, relationship between periodontics
and orthodontics is extremely important for orthodontic treatment success.
