Abstract

This paper describes educational activities planned and carried out on the project development entitled “A contribution to the promotion of social inclusion by the use of Instrumental Basic Computing and Internet (InfoSocial)”. Rather than instructing participants on technical aspects, the project proposes the development of individuals abilities regarding the resources that the computer connected to the Internet offers. Through dynamic lessons, mainly practical, it is discussed topics about computer use related to the everyday life of the participants, with the objective of expanding their options, regarding to their jobs, income and social inclusion. Although the courses are satisfactorily complying with the digital inclusion, the vacancies offered are not being fully attended, and among the participants, there is a significant drop out rate. Throughout the text it is discussed the causes given by the audience, reasons for the non filling of the vacancies and the high dropout rate.
