Abstract

The use of urban non-built lots for agricultural production at
the city of Marechal C. Rondon was diagnosed with interviews to a sample of
lot owners or users of the existing 3,897 lots. A questionnaire with twentytwo
questions was used for gathering information. The production of vegetables
and fruits for their own use, and leisure provided by the agricultural work
were the most frequent reasons for use of the lots. The most common crops
according to the diagnosis are cassava, corn, peanuts, beans, sweet-potato,
pumpkin, lettuce, orange, lemon, banana and mango.
