GEOMETRICAMPOS: A GEOMETRIC LOOK AT THE CITY OF CAMPOS

Abstract

This paper describes a learning object called GeometriCampos: a Geometric Look at the City of Campos which aims to collaborate in the process of teaching and learning Spatial Geometry, offering a closer look at the geometric shapes in the urban landscape of Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ city. This object was designed based on a constructivist/interacionist conception, developed in HTML and Flash, containing images, videos, animations, applets, among other resources, to support the process of geometry teaching and learning in High School. The stages of design, planning, implementation and validation of the object are described. Besides, the results of validation performed by High School students are analyzed in order to identify possible failures and to verify the adequacy of the target audience. It seems the validation showed that the object is appropriate to what it is aimed at.
