Abstract

This study is an expression of the Marxist conception of history. It chooses as object the Contestado War and its educational processes to oppose the phenomenal approaches of social conflicts and education. In the pointed perspective were considered the main elements of the arrival of monopoly capital to southern Brazil in order to colonize and to extract raw materials for exporting, the peasant resistance and the intensification of violence in the cruelty of war, composes observations on the education within a process in middle of the class struggle. It intends to contribute to overcoming of phenomenal approaches to history and education, which present as new, but, are so old as the political economy studies of Smith and Ricardo.
