Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study with two groups of thirty students each of the 9th grade of elementary education at a private school of a city in the Paraná State, Brazil, using the theme: Modern Energy Sources. The didactic proposal was developed in the discipline of Science, Technology and Society (STS) of the professional Master's Degree in Science and Technology Education Program during the first half of 2014. The aim of this study was to develop a theme of physics education in CTS approach. The methodological approach was qualitative interpretative nature and participant observation. Data collection occurred by analyzing the productions of the students in daily notes field and mini-reports. Students participated in debates and other activities related to the consumption and production of electricity. At the end of the study, we concluded that students were positioning themselves differently on the proposed activities and participating more reflections.
