Abstract

An education that meets students’ needs is essential. The law of Acts and Bases of 1996 foresees this possibility in the article that deals with subjects that must be taught considering the specific conditions of each rural area. In this article we analyze the context in which the subject of Rural Sociology was taught to elementary school children in the Municipal School of Sao Francisco de Assis, located in the Resettlement of Sao Francisco de Assis, as well as the content to be taught, and the intended goals.
