Abstract

This article demonstrates Reuven Feuerstein’s contribution to the
Mediated Learning Experience – MLE – that helps mediated individuals become capable of overcoming limits in apprehension and problem solving, provoked by contemporary demands. The MLE, through the adopted mediation criteria – intentionality/reciprocity, meaning and transcendence – enables flexibility for change. These criteria present mediation characteristics that enable the development, within mediated individuals, of the structural cognitive modifiability that constitutes the potential capability of the human being to transform themselves, the capability of re-signifying meanings, concepts, abilities and attitudes.
