In this scientific paper, it is proposed an analysis of the representation of historical characters from the documental dramatic text Veredas da Salvação (1957-63), by Jorge Andrade, and from the documental film Terra para Rose (1987), by Tetê Moraes; Mainly, an analysis of the relations between these characters and their socio-cultural environment and the constant search for redemption from their condition of misery. Jorge Andrade and Tetê Moraes have turned their attention to a theme which, on a national context, has risen and still rises controversies and division both on the ideological and political fields, the agrarian reform, and seek after unveiling the cultural, political and social factors which interfere for this to be a matter still unsolved, even though a solution has already been found in other countries: the effectuation of the agrarian reform.
