PROGRAMA NACIONAL DE FORMACIÓN DE EDUCADORES Y EDUCADORAS: EDUCATIONAL POLITICS TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION IN VENEZUELA

Abstract

This article has a documental and bibliographic character and its purpose is to identify the objectives and analyze the conception of education in the Programa Nacional de Formación de Educadores y Educadoras (PNFE). This program is part of the Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela (UBV) and of the Misión Sucre, central expressions in the Educational Politics to the Higher Education in Venezuela, established in 2003 as an alternative to the Higher Education System, which was not corresponding to society’s demands and to the transformation process occurring in the mentioned country. In this study, it was possible to apprehend that the PNFE has as its aim to train the new educator who needs the Republic, considering the Bolivarian humanism with social-historic focus, as well as the conception of education indicated in the PNFE - “modern humanist conception” is related to liberal postulates, particularly the ones listed  in the International Committee Report about Education to the 21^st century, arranged by Jacques Delors, which explains the education pillars: learn to learn, to make, to live together and to be. Given the contradictions in the Venezuelan revolutionary process in course, it is understood that this conception needs to be overcome.
