Abstract

When we think about the reality of the student who studies at night time, the risk of school dropout becomes particularly more critical. The student of night time, in general, is one that needs to go back to school for reasons commonly associated with his professional life, almost always, their trajectory was marked by a large number of failures, leading him to resume his studies in evening hours by incompatibility between the day shift and demand from their regular work activities. Thus, this study aimed to add more information about the reasons why students at a school on the outskirts of the Baixada Fluminense, State of Rio de Janeiro,left school . Based on the socio-economic survey of students, the same distance from home to school,  the methodology used by teachers in their respective disciplines as well as the main strategies used by teachers to contain such evasion. Of data collected, it was found that students who lived near the school were most likely escaped, and the main reason for the disinterest and the appeal (s) culture (s) of the surroundings.
