Abstract

The article analyzes the determinants of the expansion of Brazilian higher education in two crucial moments (decades 1960/70 and 1990/2000). Searches for its causes and how occurred, and its consequences, using the contribution of Pierre Bourdieu, particularly his thesis of deletion extended, which can be explained through the concept of  super certification, suggested replacing the super qualification.
