History of Public Standard Courses for Primary Teacher Education in the State of Paraná

Abstract

This article presents and analyzes some aspects of the history of political organization of Normal Training courses for primary school teachers in the state of Paraná in connecting the main measures of Paraná governments and the demand for primary education. Analyzed since the early 1920s, highlighting the influence of the principles of the Movement for New School, to the Organic Law of post-1946 Normal Education Reforms and the targeting policies of the Regional Standard Courses and Standard Secondary Schools in the state Paraná. We found that there was an increase in the provision of courses and teacher training schools in the state, especially from the 1930s, under the influence of the School Movement. However, priority was given to courses Regional Standard, widespread throughout the interior of the state, in order to economically enter these regions. Have the Standard High Schools were restricted to large hundred and directed the formation of an intellectual elite tasked with handling the different actors of education throughout the state of Paraná.
