Abstract

This article aims to reflect the influence of neoliberalism in education, especially in training courses for teachers. To this, was guided by a specific study on individualism as the engine of neoliberal doctrine. We sought a conceptual discussion of liberalism and neoliberalism, using his classical authors (Adam Smith, John Locke, Hayek, Mises, Rothbard, Any Rand) and authors studying neoliberalism (Gentili, Bobbio, Draibe). Defends the neoliberalism as an obstacle to training teachers in the perspective of critical pedagogy of Peter McLaren. In this sense, the article seeks to identify outputs, toward a formation that takes into account the transformation of society, concerned mainly with the systematic critique of the naturalization of social inequalities, arising from the individualist neoliberal discourse. For training teachers committed to these values, and Mc Laren, we used Antônio Moreira.
