Abstract

This paper discusses the results presented by two meta-analyses of empirical research dealing with teaching practices carried out over the past twenty years in the French, English and Portuguese language. However, in most of the research, little consideration has been given to the multiple dimensions of teaching practices as well as real teaching practices in the classroom. Moreover, most of the investigations are developed and conducted without reference to the conceptualization of practice.
