Abstract

In this paper we present ours reflections about the high school’s history teaching of basic education confronted with what is written at Brazilian Law n° 10.639/2003. Our main goal is to affirm the importance of high school’s introduction of black and African culture at the history teaching curriculum beyond the legal imposition, especially because of its implications and developments. From a bibliographic review we make our discussion, that was organized in a way to contemplate three questions: a rescue of racial question historicity in Brazil; a theoretical fundamentation that allowed making an analysis about colonized lecturing; and, finally, a discussion of some nowadays challenges for history teachers because of the Law.
