Child flows under focus during the school break. A scenario laden with nomadic fragments triggering the movement of forces and new landscapes. This is part of a cartographic research guided by clues that emerged along the process of investigation and approximations to authors such as Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Michel Foucault and some of their commentators. The aim was to reflect on childhood and its nomadic movements in the time-space of the school break. Such experiment, which was part of a Master’s dissertation in Teaching that I carried out at the University Center as a Prosup/Capes scholarship holder from 2015 to 2017, had the following questions as its starting point: How can we think of other childhoods flooded with nomadic forces? What do children say about their nomadic movements? How do they produce flows amidst child becomings? Nomadism was regarded as a powerful concept to think about childhood. With the purpose of following some of those clues, we attempted to become closer to a group of 4-month to 5-year-old children during the school break at a Child Education school in Cruzeiro do Sul (RS). Children’s thoughts, their sounds, polyphonies and flows were recorded in field journals and audio recordings. The results evidenced an intertwining of tensions confirming the need of disrupting ways of thinking that have naturalized what has been historically delimitated, truths that follow the prevailing lines of a childhood separated from life as power.
