Abstract

This text was elaborated from the news watched on June 13th, 2004, in the Fantastic program, of the Net Globe of Television. One was about the presentation of the results of Portuguese and Mathematics tests, applied in 270 pupils of public schools of twenty and seven Brazilian capitals. In that occasion, I was in advanced process of an inquiry of the etnographic type in a public school and I dedicated special attention to the repercussions that such news provoked in the school. In this article, departing from the related news of constructed scenes in different homes and the dialogues between the teachers, I provoke a reflection on how a quantitative analysis on learning can cause social distortions and implications of most diverse.
