Abstract

In recent years, the school census data published by the MEC show an increase in enrollments in higher education in the country. Considerable proportion of this is new registrations of students belonging to lower classes and therefore need to balance work and study in order to fund spending on higher education. In this sense, the challenge of access to university adds up to ensure the permanence of students in higher education and making the most of this same process of schooling. Thus, this paper analyzes the impacts of Institutional Scholarship Program Initiation to Teaching (PIBID) as a public policy of stay of undergraduates in higher education through a case analysis. To this end, we analyzed data obtained through questionnaires and interviews of students in the Bachelor's Degree in Geography from IES Public Paraná participating in PIBID.
