Accidents at school: professional´ opinions, risks, occurrence and elaboration of a paradidactic book about prevention.

Abstract

Childhood accidents are predictable, and it´s important the knowledge of the school´s environment and the production of educational materials. The objective was to investigate professional education´s opinions, characterize aspects of risk and safety, identify the accidental occurrences and prepare a paradidactic book to prevent childhood accidents. The study was conducted with the vice director and a teacher of an elementary school in a city in São Paulo. It was made questionnaires, document analysis,filming of the school environment, analysis of books on the subject and elaborated a paradidactic book. It was found that falls were the most frequent accidents in school. It was concluded that´s a lack training or systematic action on the issue. The occurrence of accidents in school is a reality and provided subsidies for elaboration of paradidactic book, which is intended for use in educational activities at school.
