Abstract

Our purpose in preparing this paper is to present some reflections on the need for articulation between the official documents that guide teaching practice, the design philosophy presented in such documents and the process of continuing education offered to teachers who work in the early years of teaching fundamental. Our gaze extends to this process offered in western Parana, focusing on the area of Portuguese language. We assume that such training should be an ongoing process and planned and the corresponding historical and dialectical materialism, a theory that underlies the curriculum organized in this region. To better present this articulation, we are lined in Costa Hübes (2008) as a reference to continuing education in western Parana, in Marx (1987), which points to the conception of historical and dialectical method, in Saviani (1994), which search in Marxism the basis for the historical-critical pedagogy, and in the Basic Curriculum for Public Municipal School Hall (Amop, 2007) with regard to philosophical assumptions that underlie the teaching in western Paraná. By these references we try to discuss the importance of continuing education subsidized by theories that may affect and modify the pedagogical action of the teacher.
