Abstract

The aim of this article is to discuss about the purpose of teaching art at School. Through a historical-cultural approach, we analyze two current conceptions: the development of aesthetic sensitivity and creativity. Therewith, we discuss issues related to the organization of education that prevent formation processes of sense and creative imagination in the contemporary educational context. Finally, it is argued about the need to promote conceptual learning in this area.
