Abstract

This paper discusses a situation that occurred in a class of 5th grade at a public school on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. The text focuses on the actions of a teacher and his group in the absence of one of the students. Brings dialogues and situations experienced by subjects practitioners (Certeau, 1996) and in the everyday. The qualitative nature of this research, reveals theoretical and methodological choices and ethical and political dimensions of research, making sense of one of the goals of the text: being a contribution to the study of everyday life. The research situations narrated here allow discuss issues related to curriculum, learning, teaching, and teacher training difference. The authors further analyzed the production of letters as a strategy to say the word (Freire, 1999, 1978).
