Abstract

In the work reviewed Philippe Perrenoud, leading theorist in the field of Education, proposes a discussion on the role of schools in developing skills through a series of questions addressing aspects such as real preparing young people to understand and act in the world; the missions of the school as a provider of subsidies for both the continuation of higher education as for insertion in the labor market and the absence of certain subjects based on underrepresented in science programs. According to his own statement, in no time the work provides answers, but merely intended to encompass the entirety of the problem and make the debate between developing teaching skills or knowledge to be resumed in the form of a serious and reasoned debate.
