Abstract

This study aimed to understand how a group of undergraduate students with scholarship from Institutional Program of Introduction to Teaching (PIBID), Pedagogy Faculty of Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), Juara Campus are constituting their identities with the teaching profession. The study was based on the assumptions of the narrative method focusing on life stories and autobiographical narratives written in reflective memorial. The data set shows that part of those surveyed students from pedagogy course, joined the course for lack of choice, however, from the experiences and contact with school, many of them discovered they are in the right profession: to be a teacher; while others are in identity conflict, have doubts about whether or not to follow the teaching career.
