Abstract

This paper presents the theory of Social Imaginary (Castoriadis, 1982) combined with two films that portray the Brazilian education in the twenty-first century, its potential and precariousness. In this context reflect on the challenges of education in contemporary and openness brought by Article 15 of the Law of Directives and Bases of Education - LDB (BRAZIL, 1996) that allows schools pedagogical and administrative autonomy and financial management. We chose the documentary Dreams loaders (FIUZA, 2009) When I feel I already know (SACRED, 2014) in order to talk to the reader in order to propose that we see education as a social imaginary institution created by us, subject originally able to impose their ways of being in the world.
