Abstract

The worldview of modernity and the paradigm of rationality are in an advanced state of disintegration. The school, created to undertake the project of modernity is being challenged on their goal of forming rational beings enabled the field of technology and success in the working world, however incapable of dreaming.This article aims to highlight the importance of imaginary to understand the ideal human development from the myths of Pygmalion and Theseus. The educational ideas are steeped in symbols and myths that are underlying the rational construction of pedagogical discourse. We need to understand the strength of the educational imaginary constitution of our teaching.
